Flashback Friday: Lenny Kravitz

Seeing as we posted a video of Lenny Kravitz recently on our Facebook page, I only thought it’d be suiting to do a Flashback Friday on my first experience meeting Lenny Kravitz.

I was in Toronto for the Juno’s and got to play at the Gibson party on top of the CN Tower. I got to play with Brent Fitz and Todd Kerns, now known for being in Slash‘s band, but also notably for many other musical exploits. I also got to play with wrestler Chris Jericho on vocals (who plays in the band Fozzy). One of the nights I was there I got to attend Lenny’s listening party for It’s Time for a Love Revolution. Anybody that knows me knows I am a big fan of the funk. Lenny Kravitz is no slouch in that department. Being a mega fan for years I jumped at the opportunity to listen to one of my favourite artists brand new album before anyone else. To my delight I got to play a show with Lenny a few years after meeting him this first time in Napa Valley,¬†Hanson were also there. There’s a picture I took of Lenny from this show in our Gallery area under,¬†“Live Shows”.

Here’s a picture from the listening party, note Lenny’s falling asleep.¬†Apparently the photo-bomber in the back is happy his roofies are starting to kick in on Lenny. I’m glad I went for the cranberry juice instead of the champagne.
